This Privacy Policy explains how Marvelcake LLC (“Marvel Cake”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit marvelcake.com, contact us, apply for a job, sign in, or join the Marvel Cake Coffee Club.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and order inquiries: your name, email address, phone number, event date and time, number of servings, your message, and any photos you choose to upload.
- Job applications: your name, email address, phone number, the position you are applying for, your message, and your résumé.
- Franchise inquiries: your name, email address, phone number, city and state, background, and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Your account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Coffee Club membership: your chosen plan, membership status, renewal date, and a record of each coffee you collect, including the shop and time.
Information collected automatically
- Technical details: when you submit a form, we record your IP address to help prevent spam and abuse.
- Cookies: we use essential cookies to keep you signed in, to secure the sign-in process, and to return you to the right page after signing in. We do not use advertising cookies.
- Hosting statistics: our hosting provider collects standard visit statistics, such as pages viewed, to keep the website running reliably.
Payments
Coffee Club payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never sent to or stored on our website. We only keep a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription so we know whether your membership is active.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiries, quotes and custom cake orders.
- To review job and franchise applications.
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To create and manage your account and Coffee Club membership, including confirming your daily coffee at our shops.
- To keep our website secure and prevent fraud and spam.
- To meet legal and accounting requirements.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run our business, and only as needed:
- GoDaddy — website hosting.
- Stripe — payment processing for Coffee Club memberships.
- Microsoft 365 — delivering email notifications from our website.
- Google — signing in with your Google account.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, customers or staff.
Third-party websites
Our website links to other services, such as DoorDash for online ordering and Square for gift cards. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your information.
How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Inquiries and applications are kept while they are relevant to our business. Coffee Club records are kept while your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails. If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. Because we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of.
